Safe Environment Training

The mission of Safe Environment Training is to prevent sexual, physical or emotional abuse and/or neglect of children and young people through continued education, building awareness, and maintaining a commitment to keeping all children and young people safe. 

There are different training sessions for parents, youth and those serving in ministries. Class descriptions, requirements and registration are available on the Diocese Safe Environment Website (link below). 

Responsibilities: All Parish volunteers are required to attend the Safe Environment Foundation Training course. Renewal of the program can be done online. Volunteers who work directly with children or have contact with children on a volunteer basis are required to renew yearly.
